a Branded Content and Social Media Campaign
We are launching The Smalls Street Sounds in collaboration with Scion, the Toyota US car brand. Street Sounds will put sounds from local surroundings on a very neat map built on the Google Maps Flash API.
Emerse designed and built the branded channel that the map sits on, managed the search engine optimization, host the site and heads the online marketing campaign, targeting social media, search engine and highly targeted display advertising.

devilfish and Emerse bring you the 'Argument Killer' Facebook application for UKTV's Dave
How many times have you got to a point in an argument where all avenues have been explored and you seem to have hit a wall? It happens to the best of argumentative characters. All you need is one quick witticism to kill the argument dead. Celebrating the launch of Dave's new panel show Argumental starring John Sergeant, Marcus Brigstocke and Rufus Hound (Mondays at 9.40pm on Dave), devilfish and Emerse have developed the Argument Killer application exclusively for joindave.co.uk and Facebook.
Matt Cole – Creative Director at devilfish: "Having delivered the exciting new Dave site for UKTV, the Argument Killer application is the icing on the cake which allows us to showcase the tone and level of witty interactivity that can be brought to life for users. Be careful though, it's kind of addictive."
Any subject is up for grabs, just type it in to the application and a stream of wise words and clever putdowns will come your way. Memorize these, and next time you have argued yourself in to a corner, bring them out and look intellectually superior.
The application can be accessed from the Dave site and through Facebook.

“With the Argument Killer application, we show how UKTV can use Facebook to drive viewing numbers and boost audience engagement. In this case, the application empowers the programme Argumental with a relevant, interactive tool that emerges from the heart of the show, connecting audience members with the actual experience awaiting when they watch the programme.” said Carl-Johan Grund, Managing Director for Emerse, the application design and development company.

Are You Tapping the Power of Social Media?
In times of economic uncertainty, marketing and PR activities are scrutinized to see how much value they actually deliver. Oftentimes online campaigns are cut back, if not cut out entirely, from media planning and buying decisions. This recession is no different in that many companies are cautious of their media spending. But according to a report by Forrester Research most companies actually strategize to increase their long-term Social Media investments while holding back in other media spending.
The survey that covered 333 interactive marketers reveals that Social Media is widely considered to represent excellent value despite the simmering economic uncertainty. As many as 48% plan to step up their investment in social networking, blogging, email and SEO campaigns. One of the most popular kinds of online advertising, display advertising, is meanwhile up for a cutback the report says. While this could be a sign that companies are increasingly cautions of their spending, it could also be telling us that this digital heavyweight of a marketer’s favorite is up for some healthy competition from the more exciting, emerging social network opportunities.
But if Social Media has finally gained the recognition it deserves, why now? Marketers have surely finally realized the value in campaigns that can be easily launched and that require few resources to run. With the help of consumers, brands can build content and penetrate new markets – not to mention expand exposure among core audiences for the products and services in question. Everything from Facebook applications to microsites enable brands to boost their popularity, and of course – ultimately, their bottom lines. But the campaigns are also easy to measure, which of course is crucial at times of economic turmoil when every penny counts. Few other digital media strategies, or other media for that matter, offer the same kind of precision in analysis and performance enhancement tools and tactics, as Social Media does.
To learn how your brand can tap the power of Social Media, contact Emerse today.
